Mortgage Law (1/2)

Ferran Busquet, to the program "Consulta oberta" of the Taronja TV Channel tells us the weaves of the new Mortgage Law.

This law is mainly aimed at improving consumer protection and making these contracts as transparent as possible.

Therefore, among other things, the consumer must go to the notary, at least the day before the signature of the contract, to advise himself and resolve all the doubts that this step may entail. Without this step, the notary’s certification and the client’s agreement that all the consequences of this legal business have been understood, the signature cannot be made.

The costs to be borne by each party are also regulated:

  • Valuation – Customer.
  • Other costs – Bank (DJA, notary, Register, business consultancy).
